The Delta State Government has facilitated the safe evacuation of 34 indigenes studying at the University of Jos following a wave of violence in Plateau State. The decision to bring the students home was prompted by recent attacks that claimed several lives and led to the administrative closure of the university.
Chief Sunday Onoriode, the State Director of Protocol, received the students on behalf of the state government. He stated that the evacuation was a necessary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of the students after academic activities were suspended due to the security challenges in the area.
