Delta State Government Evacuates 34 Students from University of Jos Following Security Unrest

The Delta State Government has successfully evacuated 34 students of Delta origin from the University of Jos following recent violent attacks in Plateau State. The intervention follows the indefinite closure of the institution due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.

The Delta State Government has facilitated the safe evacuation of 34 indigenes studying at the University of Jos following a wave of violence in Plateau State. The decision to bring the students home was prompted by recent attacks that claimed several lives and led to the administrative closure of the university.

Chief Sunday Onoriode, the State Director of Protocol, received the students on behalf of the state government. He stated that the evacuation was a necessary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of the students after academic activities were suspended due to the security challenges in the area.
