Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Olohundare Jimoh, head of the Zone 2 Command, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians regarding ballot snatching and other forms of electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Wednesday at a sensitization lecture for stakeholders held at the command headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, AIG Jimoh addressed the critical dangers associated with electoral violence. The event served as a platform to educate political actors and the public on the necessity of maintaining order and upholding the integrity of the democratic process.
The AIG emphasized that the police force remains committed to curbing disruptions during polls and urged stakeholders to prioritize national security over illicit political gains. The lecture is part of a broader initiative by the command to mitigate risks and ensure a peaceful environment for future electoral cycles.
